QUESTIONS AND ANSWERS

How long does Richy Hair tape hair last?

With Richy you have a 6-month warranty if you use hairdressing products with moisture and heat protection when styling.

The durability of your hair extensions depends on how you care for them. If you follow our care instructions, your hair extensions can last much longer than 6 months.

They should be replaced every 6-8 weeks as they grow out naturally with your own hair.

The treatments are non-sticky and gentle on both your own hair and the extensions.

Are Richy Hair hair extensions real hair?

Yes, we use only the finest European and Indian temple hair and hand select the healthiest, shiniest and silkiest strands.

Can I sunbathe and swim with my hair on?

Enjoy a lovely sun and beach holiday.

Since the hair is unbleached, you can both sunbathe and swim with your hair!

Just make sure to rinse out the chlorine and salt water from your hair and wash it clean at the end of the day. Feel free to add extra moisture to your routine during your vacation.

Note: All hair can heat up slightly after a long time in the sun and swimming, this is completely normal even for our own natural hair.

Will tape hair damage my thin, brittle hair?

No, our tape hair is specifically developed to be gentle on thin, fragile hair. We have ultra-thin, soft, flexible tapes and light, airy strands that don't weigh you down.

It is important that the tapes are applied correctly and replaced every 6-8 weeks. It is also important to follow our care instructions.

Can I style my hair with a curling iron or straightener?

Yes, it works! Make sure to always use heat protection and apply it generously over the lengths. We recommend using a maximum heat of 185 degrees.

As the hair extensions embrace your own strands, they act as protection for your own hair and also provide extra hold so the styling lasts longer.

How long does my own hair have to be to fit hair extensions?

We usually recommend a length of approximately 8-10cm to apply tape-in hair extensions.

How do I wash my Richy Hair?

Always use a moisturizing series from your hairdresser. Wash your hair about 2-3 times a week.

Step 1. Moisture Shampoo

Wet your hair and add shampoo as usual. Massage your scalp, making sure to get between the ends with your fingers to lift away any build-ups.

Shampoo through the lengths, this is important to remove any product residue that could prevent moisture from conditioner and mask from entering the strands otherwise.

Rinse your hair thoroughly. We usually recommend parting your hair at the nape of your neck into two sections (as if you were going to braid two braids) and then taking the shower head off and rinsing thoroughly at the back of your head and neck to rinse it clean between the hairpins from any shampoo residue.

Step 2. Moisture Conditioner

Add conditioner to the lengths, massage evenly over the lengths to ensure the moisture reaches all strands. Leave on for a minute or so. Then rinse out.

It is important that the conditioner does not come into contact with the attachments, so start from the ears downwards.

Alternative: Moisture mask once a week

Once a week or as needed, we recommend using a moisture mask as extensions can no longer generate moisture when they are cut from the head. Apply the mask after shampooing to damp hair on the lengths and leave it on as per the instructions. Then rinse the mask out.

Step 3. Blow dry your hair.

Brush through hair, starting at the ends and working upwards. Apply heat protectant and blow dry hair and attachments. You can let the lengths air dry for amazing beach waves.

What color should I choose?

When you have Richy tape-in extensions applied by a Richy stylist, they will ask questions during the consultation to understand
what result you want.

They will then look at your lengths for
to ensure that the colors of the extensions blend nicely with your hair, especially at the transition from your own hair to avoid an edge.

We have a large selection of colors, looped
tapes and dark roots to choose from to tailor the result completely to your wishes.

Can a hairdresser dye Richy Hair?

Yes, a certified Richy stylist can color your Richy hair with a glossy toner (low peroxide content).

Always start by washing your hair with shampoo first. Then try painting a strand first to see how much the strand absorbs and then paint the remaining extensions.

You can go warmer, darker and cooler but we do not recommend bleaching your hair or using permanent hair color.

Is Richy Hair Remy?

Yes, the hair comes from braids so it is always 100% Remy which means that all the strands lie in the same direction. This is important to avoid tangles on the lengths and in the neck when you get hot.

If a hair is not Remy, it means that the hairs may come from old brushes and floors. This means that the strands are tangled and may lie upside down against each other. This causes the cuticle (the outermost layer of the hair that looks like small fish scales and protects the strands) to catch on each other and create tangles and tangles, especially when the hair is wet.

Does Richy's hair have the cuticle left?

Yes, as we never bleach or use strong processes on our hair extensions, we maintain our natural cuticle layer in perfect condition, which means that the natural shine remains and the hair does not become dull and lackluster after a few washes.

The cuticle, which is the outermost layer of hair on each strand, not only provides protection but also provides natural shine and retains color and moisture in the strand. Maintaining the cuticle is important for the durability of the hair extensions.
